Astronomers from around the world converge on Wuhan, China to watch the July 22, 2009 total eclipse of the Sun
City of Wuhan, China. This is really "night" for 5 minutes and 24 seconds. You can compare it with city just after the eclipse. In the meantime, you can see East (sun) side sky is getting darker while West side is getting brighter in accordance with move of the eclipse. Sudden change from 9:28 a.m. to 9:29 a.m. is also interesting. You may feel its length and understand why it is said to be the "longest" total solar eclipse in the century.
Visit http://www.monkeetime.com for more videos/photos/stories/travel advice. July 22nd 2009, I went to Wuhan, China to check out the total solar eclipse. At 6min:39s this was the longest eclipse this century, though in Wuhan the totality lasted only 5min:30s. But that was good enough! Clouds spoiled the fun a little bit, but it was still an interesting adventure, and one of the coolest visa runs a Koh Tao resident has ever seen. From Wikipedia: A total solar eclipse occurred on July 22, 2009. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth's view of the Sun. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is larger than the Sun, blocking all direct sunlight, turning day into darkness. Totality occurs i...
This time the luck was not on my side. Clouds obscured the corona most time during totallity. Because of the bad weather we decided to go to Wuhan instead of watching the eclipse from the Shanghai area as planed. I read reports that the corona was visible some km north of the city of Wuhan, others saw it some km south of the city. I was near the city center and had to deal with a field of thick Altocumulus clouds, which allowed us to see second contact, but the corona did not make it through, despite of about 10 seconds. But it was very hard to see and not comparable to the beautiful eclipses 2006 and 2008.
Claudy but we could watch it. 武漢日蝕

My trip to Wuhan. One thing that was really amazing in this trip was the Ship performance (知音号) It was indeed an eye opener. Why was it amazing? Cause the moment you step on board, you become a part of the performance. The ship is filled with actors all around each corner and spaces. You can walk freely, interact with them and have fun! If you want to know where you should go or have questions, comment down below! I'm trying to improve!

This was supposed to be a much longer trip, but got derailed on the account of huge technical difficulties with the camera, and the related loss of motivation. In any case, here it is. Enjoy. Part One is all about getting there, setting in, checking out the Yangtze River (Asia's longest), and getting some food into us after that hugely long train trip. ☑SUBSCRIBE ☑LIKE ☑SHARE ☐GET ON PLANE FOLLOW THE MONKEE! ✩ Blog/Website - http://www.monkeetime.com ✩ FaceBook - https://www.facebook.com/monkeetime ✩ Twitter - https://twitter.com/monkeetimevideo

This is the second part of our trip to Wuhan. The camera was failing miserably by then, and you'll notice a lot of glitchiness, but I decided to keep and edit the video, just for shits and giggles. Aside of the Wal-Mart, we checked out the Yellow Crane Pagoda, sampled various yumminess around the city, and in other ways entertained ourselves. ☑SUBSCRIBE ☑LIKE ☑SHARE ☐GET ON PLANE FOLLOW THE MONKEE! ✩ Blog/Website - http://www.monkeetime.com ✩ FaceBook - https://www.facebook.com/monkeetime ✩ Twitter - https://twitter.com/monkeetimevideo
On the Princess Elaine of China Regal Cruises we head upriver the Yangtze River towards Gezhouba Dam. Particularly impressive is how much of the work is done by hand, such as loading and unloading the ships. Heavy machinery is only seldom seen. It quickly becomes clear what great amounts of sand and clay are transported from the Yangtze into valley areas. And this occurs in a region that is almost perfectly flat. There is only a 192 m difference in altitude along the 2400 km stretch between Shanghai and Chongqing. However, travel by ship is often a better alternative to road travel, even for trucks. The trip from Wuhan to the Three Gorges Dam costs around 00 Euros, including meals and sleeping accommodations. ..... please read more: https://blog.myvideomedia.com Auf der Princess Elain...

These videos are filmed while riding an ebike on the streets of Wuhan, a fast growing Chinese city with a population of almost 10 million. Due to the limited range of the bike, all videos are shot in Wuchang near the Guanggu Square. Many of Wuhan's University are located in this area, also some beautiful lakes can be found here. Compered to the quite developed and clean City center in Hankou, Wuchang has a lot of constructions and some of the streets are a real challenge to drive. Till now, every video was shot with a Xiaomi Yi Cam 4k action camera, the newer videos without waterproof case to increase the picture quality. Also I uesed different external audio devices to get rid of the wind noise.
